The main task was to design a poster for Golden Gate Park’s October Events taking above the fold/scroll into consideration in order to keep the poster web friendly and to create visually appealing poster to the viewers. This was a project for Graphic Design 2 class in the design program at San Francisco State University.
The target audience is San Francisco residents and tourists visiting San Francisco and who look for fun, informative, sportive activities to do in the park.
Ideation process played a crucial role for the final design layout, as many different media and methods were used to expand the possibility of the creative solutions. These methods included but not limited to drawing, photography, ink stamping, painting, leaf stamping and collage.
After the research and ideation, the concept started getting shaped. Taking walks in Golden Gate Park and observing fall colors also helped deciding on the color palette and taking physically created collages to the digital space gave the idea of embracing the pixelated look. This decision was due to embracing the originality of the whole creative process involved in this project.
